Complete Coach Works (CCW) received a contract from the City of Simi Valley, Calif., and Simi Valley Transit for the refurbishment of a Gillig coach, as well as conversion of the fuel system to compressed natural gas (CNG).

The conversion consists of new CNG fuel tanks, stainless steel piping, and a new Cummins 8.3L engine and Allison transmission. Additionally in the refurbishing of the bus, the electrical system will be updated to a new multiplex system allowing Simi Valley Transit to diagnose electrical problems.
The project also includes the installation of a new ADA-compliant wheelchair lift, all new seat cushions for passenger comfort and an application of undercoating to prevent corrosion.
Training for Simi Valley Transit will be provided on the electrical system and all other applicable systems including: wheelchair lift, fuel system, engine and transmission.
