The Center for Transportation and the Environment (CTE) has opened registration for the 2021 International Zero Emission Bus Conference (ZEB Conference) taking place Sept. 15-17 in Denver, Colorado.
The ZEB Conference is an event designed for industry professionals leading the charge to electrification — equipping school, transit, and shuttle bus managers with the necessary tools to electrify their fleets, according to a news release from CTE.
This year's conference will encompass three days of programming that includes keynote speakers, panel sessions, networking opportunities, and a bus expo on Sept. 16 and 17. An optional ZEB 101 class and a tour of Denver's Regional Transportation District's (RTD's) fleet facility will be available on Sept. 15.
This year's conference is held in partnership with RTD, which currently operates 36 zero-emission buses in downtown Denver. Another key conference partner is Denver Metro Clean Cities Coalition, a Colorado-based nonprofit working to advance clean transportation to improve air quality and reduce fossil fuel dependency.
"As someone who works closely with Colorado's electric school bus stakeholders and other people-moving fleets, we are especially excited that this year's event will cover topics unique to this audience," said Bonnie Trowbridge, executive director at Denver Metro Clean Cities Coalition.
"As momentum builds around electrifying our nation's bus fleets, CTE is excited to reconvene the leading event for fleet decision makers exploring battery and fuel cell electric bus and shuttle options," said Lauren Justice, CTE's development director. "The ZEB Conference addresses real world concerns and provides tempered strategies and tools for community leaders stepping into the zero-emission space.”
CTE is currently accepting abstracts for presentations that highlight key concepts in the zero-emission bus landscape. Preference will be given to site-specific case studies that illustrate best practices and benchmarks for the burgeoning zero-emission bus network. The deadline to submit abstracts is June 1.
