CTTransit adds more routes to Google Transit

The Stamford CTTRANSIT service area is next in line to be put into the system. Waterbury, Wallingford and Meriden will come soon after.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) announced that all CTTransit bus routes in the New Britain area are now included on Google Transit, an online public transit trip planning tool. CTTRANSIT New Britain now joins the Hartford & New Haven Division on Google Transit.

"This is yet another of the state-owned CTTRANSIT service areas that will be reflected in the Google Transit program," said CTDOT Commissioner James P. Redeker. "Google Transit is just one of the ways we're making it easier for people to discover and use public transportation in Connecticut."

When users visit Google Maps, in addition to directions by car and walking, the public transit icon will now be available for the Hartford, New Haven and New Britain areas. Users can enter their destination and get step-by-step directions for making a trip via public transportation. This includes which bus route(s) to take and how to get to/from the bus.
