Cummins to provide engines to LA MTA and DOT
Engines will power NABI, ElDorado buses.
Cummins Westport Inc. will provide 30 C Gas Plus engines to the Los Angeles MTA and 40 propane transit bus engines to the Los Angeles DOT. The C Gas Plus engines will be used to power the new NABI CompoBuses being delivered to the MTA in the summer of 2003. The engine is six-cylinder, 8.3 liters with 280 horsepower. The propane engines will be installed on 30-foot ElDorado buses, scheduled for delivery in early 2002. Cummins Westport Inc. is a joint venture of Cummins Inc. and Westport Innovations Inc.
