D.C. Metro Web page showcases TOD projects
The new page details more than 20 projects, including location, acreage, project details, site plans and developer information.
The Washington Metropolitan Areas Transit Authority (Metro) launched a new Web page that highlights dozens of current and recently completed transit oriented development (TOD) projects that promote walkable, sustainable communities and provide access to an array of activities and public transportation.
The new page details more than 20 projects, including location, acreage, project details, site plans and developer information, and can be found at Metro's Joint Development and Real Estate page.
"The idea behind Metro's real estate program is to maximize the use of land that is adjacent to Metrorail stations to create vibrant places where people can live, work, shop and play and where public transportation is an attractive option for getting around," said Steven Goldin, Metro's director of real estate.
Major projects that are currently in the works include development at Twinbrook and White Flint Metrorail stations along Rockville Pike in Maryland and redevelopment of the Arlington Bus Garage near Ballston Metrorail station in Arlington.
