[IMAGE]DaimlerSprinterMarch16HALFFULL.jpg[/IMAGE] Daimler Buses North America is introducing its Sprinter shuttle bus to the Canadian market.
The Sprinter shuttle bus will make its official Canadian debut at the 2009 Ontario Transportation Expo in Toronto on April 21, 2009, at the Daimler Buses North America booth.
The shuttle offers seating for up to 16 passengers and features a modern, streamlined design. It is currently in use across the U.S. in luxury hotel, airport, commuter and paratransit shuttle applications. In the transit market, the ADA-compliant Sprinter offers both side- and rear-lift wheelchair access.
Meanwhile, the Central New York Regional Transportation Authority (CNYRTA) in Syracuse, N.Y. will purchase 18 40-foot Orion VII compressed natural gas (CNG) transit buses, to be delivered the first quarter of 2010.
The 18 Orion VII CNG buses, manufactured in Oriskany, N.Y., also feature Carrier air-conditioning units. The vehicles boast a stainless steel frame, as well as a Lift-U ramp that features a rising floor. The CNYRTA, operator of the Centro public transit system in the region, has an existing fleet of 120 CNG transit buses.
