Daimler sets revenue record, showcases Setra S 6
Despite the record revenue increase, company said motorcoach sales numbers were not yet available.

Daimler Buses President/CEO Andreas Strecker speaks at a UMA Expo press conference in front of a Setra S 6.
During a press conference, President/CEO Andreas Strecker and Chief Commercial Officer Pat Scully gave a company update for 2008, which included a 16 percent increase in revenue – a new record – and 10 percent increase in transit sales, as well as a doubling in Sprinter shuttle sales.
Motorcoach numbers were not yet available, according to Scully, who added that like the industry, sales came to a screeching halt around the fourth quarter of 2008. Scully also said, though, that the company is optimistic that the motorcoach numbers will still be good and 2009 will be a fruitful year for the company.
