DART
An agreement with Southern Methodist University (SMU) for a site-specific shuttle service was approved for another year by the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) board.
The shuttle, called SMU Express, connects the SMU campus with SMU/Mockingbird Station and nearby apartments.
It operates Monday through Friday, plus Saturday during the school year, for SMU students and other DART patrons.
SMU Express is one of DART’s highest shuttle ridership performers at an average daily passenger ridership of 871.
DART agreed to be responsible for the cost of service if the campus is closed due to a pandemic, but in no case will DART's financial exposure exceed $381,924 which protects DART even if on campus instruction is cancelled.
