Detroit's M-1 Streetcar earns $12M FTA Tiger grant

DETROIT — The M-1 Rail streetcar line will get an additional $12.2 million in funding through the FTA’s TIGER grant program, reported the Detroit Free Press.
The funding, which had been anticipated by M-1 officials, helps to plug what could have been a hole in funding for the streetcar line’s estimated $140-million construction cost and its operating revenues later. For the full story, click here.
Matthew P. Cullen, M-1 Rail president/CEO released the following statement:
“We are thrilled by the news of the TIGER award, which is so important to the M-1 RAIL project.
