Jennifor L. Dorn was today unanimously confirmed as Federal Transit Administrator. "Jenna brings a wealth of federal government and private sector experience with her," said U.S. Secretary of Transportation Norman Mineta in a statement. "Her strong background in transportation will make her a valuable asset to the federal transit program and the Department's senior management team." Previously, Dorn served as the assistant secretary for policy at the Department of Labor under former President George H.W. Bush and as associate deputy secretary of transportation at the DOT during the Reagan administration. She also served as director of the office of commercial space transportation, senior vice president of the American National Red Cross and president of the National Health Museum. At the FTA, Dorn will lead a 500-employee agency and manage a nearly $7 billion annual budget.
