Exclusive: METRO reveals 'Top 100 Bus Fleets' — Coming in at No. 90, Albuquerque's ABQ Ride reported a total of 191 vehicles in 2010.

[IMAGE]MET9Top100-ABQ2-2.jpg[/IMAGE]With a total of 4,493 vehicles, New York City Transit (NYCT) still holds the top spot in METRO Magazine's 2010 Top 100 Transit Bus Fleets survey. NYCT is followed by Metro (Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority) (2,723), Pace Suburban Bus (2,392), New Jersey Transit (2,373) and the Toronto Transit Commission (1,998).

Dwindling sales tax revenues continue to have a serious impact on many transit agencies around the nation, with 78 percent of this year's respondents to the survey saying they are experiencing budget issues.

Despite the funding issues, agencies report they are doing all they can to work smarter while continuing to grow ridership.
