Foton announces unique charity offer to industry
From Jan. 1, 2011 until Dec. 31, 2011, the company will donate 1 percent of the base price of each bus purchased to a charity, non-profit organization or community project in the purchaser's local market.
[IMAGE]Foton-2.jpg[/IMAGE]Foton America Bus Company Inc. announced that beginning Jan. 1, 2011 until Dec. 31, 2011, the company will donate 1 percent of the base price of each bus purchased to a charity, non-profit organization or community project in the purchaser's local market.
Jared Schnader, VP, market development at Foton America made the announcement at the American CNG Consortium's meeting held in November in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
"We at Foton America strive to improve the communities we work in and where our products are used. We already offer buses at prices below the competition, with delivery times shorter than theirs, and this donation is just another mark that we are dedicated to our customers and their communities," said CEO Cliff Clare Jr.
The offer, the first of its kind in the transit industry, was well-received with much praise and interest, according to Foton. It will be valid for both private and public entities.
