The head of Winnipeg (Manitoba) Transit has resigned over a decision to stall plans for rapid transit in the city.
Rick Borland had been in the position for the past 24 years.

According to CBC Winnipeg, Borland said the city deserves better but will not see any changes until rapid transit becomes a priority.
The city council voted 11 to 5 in favor of the mayor's proposal to delay the construction of high-speed bus lanes.
The mayor plans to use the $43 million set aside for rapid transit on improvements to community centers.
