
KANSAS CITY — The Kansas City Area Transportation Authority is closing in on a cooperative agreement with the city of Independence to take over the administration of its bus and paratransit services, the Kansas City Business Journal reported.
KCATA also will take over management of Independence's contract with First Transit Inc., the contractor operating the city’s IndeBus service, and will take over call center operations for both the fixed-route bus services and the paratransit services.
