Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) has selected seven finalists in its Transit Flicks Video Contest.
In a recent post on the agency's blog, Metro's Fred Camino explained that Metro staff selected the finalists and it's up to the public to select the Grand Prize winner, who will receive a free EZ transit pass good for one year of travel on Metro buses, Metro Rail and many other carriers throughout the region — a $1,008 value.
First runner up gets a free EZ transit pass for six months and second runner up gets a free EZ transit pass for three months. Five honorable mention winners will receive a free EZ transit pass for a month.
In June Metro asked customers to create brief videos (under two minutes in length) explaining why transit works for them and encouraging others to give it a try. Submitted videos were judged on their originality, believability and how well they convince others to try transit.

The changes are designed to reduce overall travel time, shorten wait times, and get customers to their destinations more quickly.
