London launches revamped double-decker bus

LONDON — The retooled version of the iconic red double-decker bus was launched on the streets of London this week. The buses, which are equipped with diesel-electric hybrid technology, cost an estimated $2.25 million apiece, according to an msnbc.com report.
The bus has three sets of doors, each with Oyster card readers. On the inside, there are two staircases, one near the front and one at the back, for easy access to and from the upper deck.
