Megabus.com expands service
Addition of five cities brings total to 13 serviced cities.
Megabus.com will expand its low-cost, intercity express bus service to five additional cities: Ann Arbor, Mich.; Columbus, Ohio; Kansas City, Mo.; Louisville, Ky. and Pittsburgh, all with direct routes from Chicago. With the addition of these five cities, Megabus will have service available between its hub in Chicago and a total of 13 cities. Cities already serviced include Cincinnati, Cleveland, Detroit, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, St. Louis and Toledo, Ohio. The company will have a fleet of 18 buses under the expansion plan and will be able to draw on a pool of 2,500 vehicles as needed. Megabus keeps fares low by using online ticketing and sidewalk stops instead of bus terminals. Some seats are priced at $1, with fares increasing incrementally based on the time between booking and departure dates.
