 [IMAGE]Awards-3-Full.jpg[/IMAGE] Transit agency officials from METRO Magazine's "10 Great Transit Systems to Work For" were recognized today during an awards ceremony held on the APTA EXPO floor.

Attendees included SunLine Transit Agency General Manager Mikel Oglesby, Riverside Transit Agency CEO Larry Rubio, Greater Dayton Regional Transit Authority Executive Director Mark Donaghy and Greater Hartford Transit District Executive Director Vicki Shotland.

During the award presentation, staff members were given a special plaque recognizing their agency "for creating an environment that encourages a fully engaged and highly skilled workforce."

Attributes of the chosen agencies included: having an open-door policy among managers; a relaxed, family atmosphere; work-schedule flexibility; strong employee recognition practices; and an encouraging, supportive environment.
