Milwaukee County Transit names new managing director
Throughout his career, Mike Giugno has placed a priority on security. He led efforts to meet established Homeland Security requirements for transit systems, while working to enhance on-bus security programs.
The Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) named Mike Giugno as its managing director, following the April retirement of Lloyd Grant Jr.
Giugno has 32 years of transit experience and has held a variety of positions including operations analyst; manager, street operations; director, transportation; and director, operations. His most recent post as deputy director has been held since 2011. He began as an MCTS bus operator in 1981.
Throughout his career, Giugno has placed a priority on security. He led efforts to meet established Homeland Security requirements for transit systems, while working to enhance on-bus security programs.
MCTS is a vital service to the community, connecting 45 million riders each year with jobs, schools, shopping, healthcare and recreation in Wisconsin’s Milwaukee County.
