Apollo Video Technology (Apollo Video) announced that Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) selected the company to outfit its fleet of buses with the RoadRunner HD™  mobile video surveillance system.

“Key requirements in MCTS’s search for a new system included delivery of reliable, high-quality video recordings as well as capability for instant live video and automatic downloads triggered by events. These features will save valuable time and resources in our goal to protect operator and passenger safety,” said Dan Boehm, managing director of MCTS. “It is evident that Apollo Video brings extensive experience to mobile video surveillance, and we look forward to partnering with them.”

Apollo Video will install 415 RoadRunner HD™ systems across MCTS’s fleet of fixed route buses, featuring 10 cameras per system. The system offers a rugged on-board recording solution that integrates with Apollo Video’s state-of-the-art Vehicle Information Management (ViM™) Software.

The system will allow MCTS staff to wirelessly download and easily manage video clips for evidentiary purposes. Once the video has been reviewed and archived by staff, short and long term storage will be available at a centralized server. The asset management feature of the ViM Software™ will ensure system components are serviced and up-to-date. Such capabilities mean that MCTS staff will be able to manage video and system information from their desktops and mobile devices — eliminating the need for manual system checks and additional tracking software.

“We are excited to partner with MCTS to provide a robust solution that addresses a multitude of MCTS’s most pressing needs,” said Rodell Notbohm, CEO of Apollo Video Technology. “The combination of the on-board RoadRunner HD™ system and management software delivers a sustainable and flexible solution that will improve operational efficiency and reduce costs while providing the highest quality video.”
