Motorcoach tours provide $357M to Chicago annually
A George Washington University study showed various ways motorcoach tours contributed to the city's economy.
Motorcoach tours provide more than $357 million annually to Chicago, according to an economic study. The American Bus Association (ABA) announced the findings of the study, compiled by George Washington University, at its annual American Bus Marketplace held in Chicago last week. Other study findings showed that a day bus trip to Chicago contributes approximately $7,667 to the city's economy, a one-night trip contributes $11,673 and a four-night trip contributes approximately $22,693. The study also looked at the changing demographics of the bus tour passenger. The majority of day trip passengers fell between 35 to 44 years of age; 63% were married; 50% were professionals; 19% were retired; and 91% said they would like to return to the destination. Complete study results can be found on the ABA's Website at www.buses.org
