New Flyer Industries Canada ULC was named one of Canada's Greenest Employers for 2010 for the third consecutive year by the editors of Canada's Top 100 Employers. Employers were evaluated based on earth-friendly initiatives that involve employee participation, the degree to which environmental values have been integrated into the corporate culture, and how well these initiatives are attracting both employees and customers to their organizations.
New Flyer has taken measures to minimize the impact of its products and production facilities on the environment, such as implementing low-VOC products to reduce emissions and managing the safe disposal of hazardous waste generated in the manufacturing process.
