NFI Group Names Marion as President of MCI

NFI Group Inc. (NFI) announced the selection of Rob Marion as the new president of Motor Coach Industries (MCI). He will start his new role effective immediately, reporting directly to NFI’s President/CEO John Sapp.

Marion joined New Flyer in 1994 and, during his three decades with the organization, has assumed advancing responsibilities for facilities engineering, production, manufacturing engineering, and part fabrication. Most recently, he served as VP, fabrication, where he led operational excellence, quality, and continuous improvement, and performance for all North American internal part fabrication and sub-assembly operations, including New Flyer, MCI, KMG, and Carfair Composite, together supporting NFI bus and coach manufacturing.

NFI’s former President/CEO, Paul Soubry, had served as interim president of MCI until his retirement in January 2026, and Marion’s appointment now establishes a dedicated president for the business, taking full ownership of MCI’s sales, engineering, manufacturing, service, and support functions, the company said.

In 2020, NFI combined its New Flyer and MCI businesses into one operating unit, reflecting the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the associated global supply chain challenges. The company said the move was intended to streamline operations while also strengthening engineering, supply, and product development platforms during a period when MCI experienced lower market demand.

Sion Tapped to Lead Alstom

Alstom appointed Martin Sion as its new CEO, effective immediately. He succeeds Henri Poupart-Lafarge, who, after a decade at the helm, has decided not to seek a further term as CEO.

Under Poupart-Lafarge’s leadership since 2016, Alstom achieved a strong leadership position in the global rail industry, marked by significant growth, a broadened product portfolio, and a reputation for strong partnerships worldwide. His tenure saw the company’s revenues rise from around $7 billion to about $21.3 billion, with profitability among the highest in the industry, Alstom said.

“I am extremely honored to join Alstom and look forward to working with the talented teams to advance the decarbonization of transport and deliver innovative mobility solutions worldwide,” said Sion. “I thank Henri for his leadership and for laying solid foundations, including building a capable leadership team that will enable Alstom’s continued success.”

He also served with the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority Metro Transit Police Department in Washington, D.C., and the New York City Transit Authority.

As chief of transit police and system security, Rose will lead VIA’s efforts to maintain a safe and secure system for employees, customers, and the community.

Transdev US Chooses Costello as VP, Finance

Transdev US recently appointed Brian Costello as VP, finance. He brings more than 20 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, accounting operations, and strategic business leadership.

Costello joins Transdev U.S. from Mark Anthony Services Inc., where he most recently served as senior director, accounting. During his tenure, he led major financial transformation initiatives, modernized enterprise resource planning and reporting systems, strengthened internal controls, led system implementation transitions using peer-to-peer (P2P) models, and partnered closely with global financial planning and analysis (FP&A) teams to enhance forecasting and performance visibility.

His earlier career includes key finance roles at Diageo, Sears Holdings, Alberto Culver, and Motorola, where he oversaw large-scale profit-and-loss management, capital planning, and financial modeling across complex operational environments.
