CORVALLIS, Ore. — Oregon State University is heading into its second year of its parking and transportation strategy aimed at reducing congestion in the campus core and nearby neighborhoods, the Corvallis Gazette-Times reported.
The key component of the program is a zonal pricing system that charges students, faculty and staff more to park closer to the campus core and less to park further away and shuttle in.
The university has made several changes to the program, including the addition of 151 uncovered bike parking spaces and 68 covered ones. Bike lockers will also be installed at the south end of campus, and a fifth Beaver Bus will be purchased as a backup for the current four on-campus shuttles. For the full story, click here.
The service is a flexible, reservation-based transit service designed to close the first- and last-mile gaps and connect riders to employment for just $5 per day.
