On Thursday, Daimler Buses North America announced it received an order from the University of Georgia’s (UGA) Campus Transit System for four Orion VII 40-foot diesel transit buses. This follows another order for four of the Orion VII buses from UGA in 2008.

The four Orion VII buses will continue to provide transit services to Georgia’s 32,000-plus students, seven days a week. The Orion VII transit buses are ideal for university transit applications as the buses have a higher passenger capacity, wide doors, low-floor design and kneeling feature that allows for fast and easy boarding.

The buses for UGA also feature a front door ramp to accommodate passengers with special needs and include two wheelchair positions.

Delivery is scheduled for fall 2010.
