PITTSBURGH — At a Tuesday news conference, public transportation advocates urged Gov. Tom Corbett and the Pennsylvania Legislature to provide funds to expand transit service while reducing fares, reported the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
On Jan. 24, the governor is expected to unveil a plan for dealing with an estimated $3.5 billion annual shortfall in state spending to maintain highways, bridges, transit systems and more.
