Palm Beach, Fla. County’s Palm Tran set fixed-route ridership records in fiscal year 2012, with a total annual ridership of 11,579,076. The figure marks a 4.08% increase compared to the previous record total of 11,124,904 set last year.
This is the fourth consecutive year that fixed-route ridership increased and the third consecutive year that new ridership records were set.
Fixed-route weekday ridership averaged 39,288 passengers for the fiscal year, breaking last year’s record of 37,708. Palm Tran ridership over the past 10 years increased by more than 15,000 passenger trips per weekday and 4.6 million annual riders.
The region’s fixed-route system finished out the year with a total of 373.5 million rides. Adding 12.3 million rides over 2024 represents an increase that is equal to the annual transit ridership of Kansas City.
