LOS ANGELES — California high-speed rail officials have proposed moving a station planned for Escondido closer to Valley Parkway and routing the trains through the city closer to the highway. The plan aims to reduce the number of houses and commercial properties that would be demolished for the project, reports the North County Times.

This section of the rail line would connect Los Angeles and San Diego through Riverside County. It will not be built until 2023, according to officials. To read the full story, click here.
