Q’Straint will unveil its new portable oxygen tank securement solution for the school bus, public transit and paratransit markets at the APTA Annual Meeting.

Available in November, GO2 (pronounced “Go To”), by Sure-Lok,  is an adaptable oxygen holder designed to safely and quickly transport medical oxygen for personal use in school buses, paratransit, or ambulette/non-emergency medical vehicles.

Transportation operators continually face the challenge of how to move passengers with oxygen tanks in a safe and secure manner, especially without sacrificing convenience. Unsecured oxygen tanks often can become harmful projectiles in an accident or even in everyday driving incidents, such as normal stops or swerves, adding risk of harm to other passengers as well as the passenger needing oxygen.

Traditionally, paratransit vehicles have stored oxygen tanks in tall, stationary metal cabinets that take up premium space. Wherever that cabinet is positioned is where those passengers needing supplied oxygen must be seated; they cannot be separated or moved easily. Metal cabinets can also be cumbersome to use, especially in a hurry.

Additionally, it can be more costly to buy a less expensive cabinet, and then, not be able to easily move it around. The placement of oxygen containers can vary depending on the tank size and be inhibited with any other devices attached to the oxygen containers. The Sure-Lok GO2 solves the problem with quick straps that are flexible and easy to use.

The GO2 offers a practical solution to keeping passengers and drivers safe by ensuring oxygen tanks are quickly and easily secured.

GO2 prevents oxygen cylinders from tipping, falling or becoming a projectile during a sudden stop or maneuver. It works with the Series L Track floor anchor system for quick fleet-wide deployment and ideal vehicle and passenger placement.

Transit, paratransit, school and other vehicle operators can seat passengers anywhere inside their vehicle while still safely securing oxygen tanks — all without the necessity of a cumbersome storage cabinet. The GO2 also resists vandalism and is easy to clean and maintain. Additionally, its lightweight structure gives it more flexibility to be easily moved from one position to another or to a different vehicle.
