[IMAGE]Ricon-Mirage-F10X-Wheelchair-Lift-2.jpg[/IMAGE]Ricon Corp., A Wabtec Company, introduced the Mirage F10X wheelchair lift, which provides maximum space efficiency and automatic convenience, at the UMA Expo 2011 held in Tampa, Fla. earlier this month.
The low-profile unit mounts to the luggage bay floor, allows access from both sides of the bus and provides more room to store suitcases and larger parcels. Mid-coach mounting optimizes load and off-load time. With the press of a button, the unit automatically deploys, lowers, raises and stows.
The Ricon Passenger Safety Zone features the patented interlocked occupant restraint belt system, handrails, front and rear roll-stops, full-length side rail barriers and a threshold warning system.
Wabtec Corp. also announced that its Vapor Bus International and Ricon Corp. subsidiaries have now combined the Sales and Customer Service teams of both companies to create one of the largest and most experienced sales forces in the bus industry.
Vapor is the principal supplier of bus door systems in North America and Ricon is a global supplier of wheelchair lifts, passenger access ramps and transit bus windows.
Vapor promoted John Condon, VP Sales - North America, to integrate and manage the group.
