RTD Begins Transition to Account-Based Fare, Ticketing System

Current MyRide customers will need to use the online transition tool to move their card balances to a stored value account on the new system.

The Regional Transportation District (RTD) is in the process of transitioning to a new account-based ticketing system, which will go live Sept. 1. 

The new system will allow customers to see their transactions process in near real time, instead of the previous 72-hour wait to see new balances, thanks to the new validators that are being installed on all RTD buses and at light rail and commuter rail stations.

Current MyRide customers will need to use the online transition tool to move their card balances to a stored value account on the new system.

Customers can also visit any RTD Sales Outlet to have their balances transferred in-person. King Soopers and Safeway stores will not be offering new MyRide cards or processing reloads of new MyRide cards until further notice. Customers can continue purchasing other fare products such as ticket books and monthly passes at these locations.

More details will be communicated later in August as the transition to the new account-based ticketing system progresses.
