Shermco to maintain Dallas' DART Green Line

Will test equipment power in each of the 24 Green Line substations.

Irving, Texas-based Shermco Industries was contracted by Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) to test the power of the DART Green Line at each of its 24 substations.

Starting the project in October 2008, Shermco provided a commissioning engineer to test all of the equipment in each substation. The Shermco engineer assesses various DART rail components, including the AC medium voltage section; rectifier transformer; main breakers; fire alarms; battery systems and all controls and indications. Green Line testing is scheduled for completion in January 2010.

Shermco has also provided for a training class for DART maintenance employees covering substation operation, safety and maintenance.
