Thales ticketing solution in operation in Mexico

The Thales's ticketing solution for line 3 Metrobus of the bus network in Mexico City is now operational.
Thales has been selected by Metrobus (Rapid Bus Transit system operator of the Government of Mexico city) to install its ticketing system for bus line 3 (Rapid Bus Transit) of Mexico City. This solution specifically developed for separated bus lines includes 100 percent automatic payments, entry barriers and the use of contactless cards. It enjoys the advantage of being simple, competitive and fast to deploy on a bus network with a dedicated space.
This new line counts 32 stops and has the capacity for 120,000 passengers a day. With 54 vehicles and connection to 7 metro lines and 2 bus lines, line 3 Metrobus cut travelling time by 40 percent and improves transport efficiency in the city by reducing the number of cars in the urban area.
