PORTLAND, Ore. — As part of a 10-year expansion policy to better align service with population growth patterns and ease traffic congestion, TriMet is launching three new bus lines and improving service on 10 others beginning in early March, the Portland Tribune reports.
The Service Enhancement Plans acknowledge that a growing number of riders no longer commute from suburbs to downtown Portland for work. More and more people live and work entirely outside the urban core and want transit lines that efficiently serve their needs.
