The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) announced it is increasing service to meet ridership demand. This will also include improving frequency and reliability across the transit system in peak and off-peak periods.

Starting Sun., Oct. 8, the TTC will be increasing service on 14 bus routes and improving on-time reliability on a further 11 routes.

By November, the TTC bus network will operate at 99% of pre-pandemic service levels.

TTC's Bus Replacement Services Plan

The TTC is also implementing the third phase of the Line 3 Scarborough bus replacement services plan, by extending the 954 Lawrence East Express to Kennedy Station.

This extension ensures connections with the subway, Line 2 Bloor-Danforth.

“Many of these changes are in off-peak times, meaning shorter waits for your bus, streetcar, or subway train,” said TTC CEO Rick Leary. “With tremendous support from the TTC Board, we are working harder than ever to improve service levels across our bus, subway, and streetcar network.” 

In addition to service improvements on bus routes, the TTC is also making adjustments to select routes serving seasonal summer destinations, and to accommodate construction.
