U. of Iowa unveils bus real-time arrival info system

IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa’s Information Technology Services Department has created a system called "Bus on the Go," or "BONGO," that provides information about bus routes, schedules and the exact location of buses, the Iowa City Press-Citizen and the Chicago Tribune report. Bus riders at the University, in Iowa City and Coralville will soon be able to call, text or use the Web to find out when buses are coming.
The initial project cost nearly $300,000 and is being divided between the university, Iowa City and Coralville, with annual operating costs of about $100,000. For the full story, click here.
