John King, Veolia Transportation’s GM for Prince George’s County, has been named Area VP for the company’s Northeast Transit Region. The announcement was made by Veolia’s Transit Division President/COO, Ken Westbrook.
King has been the GM for the company’s Prince George’s County contract since 2006. In that time, under his direction, service grew to nearly 1,200 daily trips, with 245 employees and 93 buses. Additionally, he is also the architect responsible for a series of successful improvement initiatives focused on increasing efficiency, improving maintenance and safety performance, and expanding accountability. King’s management team also implemented initiatives that led to significantly improved customer satisfaction and reduced costs. He is known as a skilled developer of people and is dedicated to training.
