MONTREAL — A group of wheelchair-bound transit users protested the lack of access to city buses, as they tried to enter 67 Montreal Transit Corp. buses equipped with ramps on more than 30 routes, montrealgazette.com reported.

A transit official told montrealgazette.com the city provided 2.7 million adapted transit trips on special buses and taxis for people with handicaps, including those in wheelchairs, and that it is planning to install elevators in some stations and offer wheelchair accessibility on all city routes by the end of next year.
