Woman claims she was on Chicago bus involved in fatal crash

CHICAGO — A woman filed a lawsuit against the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA), alleging she was one of three passengers on the bus involved in a fatal crash downtown last week — contradicting the transit agency’s claim that the bus was empty NBC Chicago reported.
The woman, who was heading to her home on the North Side, allegedly suffered knee and neck injuries during the June 2 crash when a bus that had initially stopped at a red light at Michigan Avenue then proceeded through the light, striking two pedestrians, killing one, and at least three other vehicles before jumping the curb.
The woman’s lawyer said there is no doubt she was on the bus, based in part on her Ventra card data and a news photo that shows her at the scene. For the full story, click here.
