Ernhofer brings 20 years of experience in traffic and transportation planning and engineering, with areas of expertise in urban and transit planning, as well as traffic management and control systems from inception to completion.
He has served as technical lead for the analysis, design development, and implementation phases of major transportation and transit projects in the New York City area. He has also served as contract manager for on-call planning and engineering services contracts with major public agencies. He joins WSP from an international engineering firm, where he worked on urban and transit projects.

The agreement provides competitive wages and reflects strong labor-management collaboration, positive working relationships, and a shared commitment to building a world-class transit system for the community, said RTA CEO Lona Edwards Hankins.
The priorities are outlined in the 2026 Board and CEO Initiatives and Action Plan, which serves as a roadmap to guide the agency’s work throughout the year and ensure continued progress and accountability on voter-approved transportation investments and essential mobility services.
