Trans/Air Manufacturing Corp. Co-Founder C. Richard Lehnert Sr. (Dick) passed away February 7, in Towson, Md., at the age of 87, the company announced.
Lehnert started Trans/Air with his brother Ed in 1979 in Dallastown, Pa., to supply bus air conditioning to the newly developing people transportation industry. Lehnert was active in the company and industry until he retired in 2005.
Trans/Air manufactures a full line of climate control systems. Units, parts, service, warranty, and new or aftermarket installations are available through factory owned operations or a network of distributors throughout North America.
The first comprehensive overhaul of SEPTA’s bus network will expand frequent service, add routes, and phase in changes through 2027.
