Record number of workers building Honolulu rail

HONOLULU — The Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (HART) reported the number of people working on the island’s rail transit project grew to 1,238 during the second quarter, according to the Pacific Business News.

The rail project broke the 1,000-worker mark in mid-March, when a total of 1,042 people were working on the project. The second quarter number reflects the addition of 93 workers who are employed by Kiewit Infrastructure West Co., Ansaldo Honolulu JV, architectural firms working on the project and HART.
