Interested candidates have until Jan. 15, 2024, to submit their application for this unique career development opportunity.
The LIT Leadership Academy (LITLA) is a comprehensive training program meticulously curated and facilitated by esteemed leaders in the transportation industry. Comprising four distinct virtual training and development program areas, the academy aims to equip participants with the skills and knowledge necessary for success in various roles within the transit sector:
Making of an Executive
Leading in Middle Management
New Careers in Transit
Transit Board Leadership
“One of the highlights of the LITLA program, now in its third year, is to watch each participant’s confidence level grow over the course of the program, ” said Alva Carrasco, president of the board of directors. “We’re extremely thankful to our partners and industry leaders who help support LITLA develop the next generation of transportation leaders.”
The LITLA Program
The LITLA will run for five months starting in March 2024, with one module per month (3.5 hours each), taught virtually by industry leaders. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of public transportation, leadership and management practices, transit funding, procurement, labor relations, regulatory compliance, and the importance of collaboration.
To graduate, participants will complete an in-person group presentation at the 2024 LIT Leadership Summit slated to take place on Sept. 12 to 14 in Portland, Ore. Graduates of the LITLA program will be recognized during a graduation ceremony held during the Leadership Summit.
Notably, LIT members receive priority consideration for the program as a membership benefit, making this an opportune time to join for development opportunities, such as LITLA and numerous other membership benefits.
