Ohio's TARTA cutting bus service due to driver shortage, OT

Posted on March 5, 2018

TOLEDO, Ohio — Under a plan approved by the Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority’s (TARTA) governing body, the transit agency will cut bus service by 6% later this month, The Blade reports.

The new service plan eliminates a bank of “lineup” buses leaving downtown Toledo at 11 a.m. on weekdays, curtails service hours on suburban Call-a-Ride buses, and reduces or eliminates weekend and holiday service on selected routes.

TARTA GM James Gee said the agency’s second service cut this year is prompted in part by a driver shortage and an accompanying need to rein in overtime expenses. For the full story, click here. http://www.toledoblade.com/local/2018/03/02/TARTA-to-cut-bus-services-develop-new-downtown-hub.html
