Six people were killed and at least 29 more injured when the driver of a motorcoach carrying a college baseball team from Bluffton, Ohio, mistook an exit ramp in Atlanta as a regular traffic lane and slammed into a barrier at an intersection before overturning and falling 30 feet onto a highway below. At least seven of the passengers were thrown from the bus, including two survivors who ended up pinned beneath the vehicle, according to several news reports. Most of the 29 passengers injured suffered cuts from the vehicle's shattered windows, as well as broken bones and bruises. The accident has revived the call for seatbelts on motorcoaches, as well as brought attention to the National Transportation Safety Board's recommendations to improve passenger safety.
