AECOM transit expert Angela Iannuzziello won a transportation leadership award in Canada for her work on transit integration and advocacy.

The award, officially known as the Transportation Person of the Year, was given out by the Transportation Association of Canada (TAC).

Iannuzziello, who is VP and Canada transit lead for AECOM, is the first female recipient in the award’s history.Her career involves more than 30 years of experience in transportation, transit and traffic planning.

Iannuzziello, who maintains a strong leadership role in transit advocacy, “is dedicated to supporting the development of sustainable transportation across Canada and indeed throughout North America,” the award noted.

She is an executive committee director for the American Public Transit Association and chairs the association’s Business Member Board of Governors and co-chairs its Governance Review Task Force. She also sits on the Canadian Urban Transit Association’s board of directors.  

Iannuzziello is a founding member of The Women’s Transportation Summit (WTS), Toronto Area Chapter, and former member of the WTS Board of Directors. She is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Toronto Region Board of Trade, where she previously chaired the board’s infrastructure committee.

In addition to TAC, she is also active in the Canadian Institute of Transportation Engineers, CivicAction, the Land Economics Society and the Urban Land Institute.
