The Routing Company (TRC) launched a new on-demand transit partnership with Sarah Car Care (SCC), a broker for WMATA’s Abilities-Ride program.
Through the partnership, SCC is using TRC’s powerful, state-of-the-art Pingo Platform to improve on-time performance and rider satisfaction. The service officially launched in April 2025.
WMATA’s Abilities-Ride program offers subsidized trips to ADA-certified riders opting into the Abilities-Ride program, which complements WMATA’s core MetroAccess paratransit service by providing greater flexibility, improved reliability, and real-time technology.
TRC officials said the launch represents a key milestone in TRC’s delivery of innovative paratransit solutions in the U.S. amid growing demand, driver shortages, and rising operational costs for paratransit nationwide. The company’s platform helps to optimize the use of non-dedicated vehicles while enhancing visibility, communication, and performance metrics like on-time performance and trip fulfillment.
Complete Coach Works (CCW) was awarded a contract to supply and refurbish 11 40-foot CNG transit buses for the City of Fresno’s Department of Transportation – Fresno Area Express (FAX).
The project was awarded under the Washington State Contract, enabling FAX to streamline its procurement processes while ensuring value and quality from an experienced transit solutions provider.
The work will be completed at CCW’s headquarters in Riverside, Calif. The 2013 New Flyer C40LFR buses have ISLG CNG engines, Allison transmissions, and Thermo King HVAC systems. Each bus will undergo a full-service inspection designed to extend its operational life and bring it up to current standards.
CCW officials said the project will include a full bus refurbishment, including undercarriage axle, brake, and suspension components; powertrain replacement; HVAC refurbishment; upgraded interiors; and a full exterior repainting. Significant electronics installations will also meet FAX’s requirements for destination signs, CAD/AVL, and security systems.
Alstom will deliver 19 additional Innovia APM R cars to Denver International Airport. The option order will increase the total number of vehicles delivered to 45.
The automated people mover (APM) vehicles will be manufactured and tested in America at Alstom’s West Mifflin, Pa., facility. This option has a total value of more than $69 million.
The expansion of the APM fleet serving Denver International Airport will help ensure the airport can adapt its fleet size to support current and future passenger volume and accommodate vehicle maintenance schedules.
The Innovia APM R provides increased capacity, with up to eight four-car trains available to operate at any given time. Alstom said the upgrades to the APM system are essential to serving existing demand and supporting the continued growth of Denver International Airport, the third busiest airport in the U.S. and sixth busiest airport in the world.
May Mobility Inc. announced a strategic partnership with ITOCHU Corp. to help accelerate driverless deployments globally over the coming years.
Beginning with a collaboration with one of ITOCHU's portfolios, BELLSYSTEM24, a customer experience and business process outsourcing solution provider, May Mobility will be able to quickly deploy thousands of driverless vehicles and support millions of riders with the AV company's Tele-assist and Rider Support platforms.
As May Mobility launches additional driverless operations, its Tele-assist platform will continue to rely on the Multi-Policy Decision Making (MPDM) driving technology's reasoning models with minimal human intervention. Unlike companies that use tele-driving to control or completely take over an autonomous vehicle, May Mobility's Tele-assist platform allows a remote monitor to easily guide and assist multiple vehicles, enhancing safe operations at scale, officials said.
May Mobility officials said the collaboration represents a first-of-its-kind in autonomous mobility. May Mobility became the first AV company to partner with a global leader in business process and customer experience outsourcing. The partnership will leverage BELLSYSTEM24's expertise in workflow optimizations to increase the efficiency of May Mobility's Tele-assist process at an industry-leading cost, further cementing May's path to becoming the first and most profitable player in the AV industry.
