Diamond Springs, Calif.-based El Dorado Transit is encouraging local high school juniors to participate in the American Public Transportation Association’s (APTA) first “Teening Up for a Greener World” Youth Summit, to be held June 22-25, 2008 in Washington, D.C.

The all-expense paid youth summit will focus on the environmental benefits of public transportation, as well as how communities prosper with increased public transit services, and will give participants the opportunity to meet with lawmakers and leaders and learn firsthand the ways public transportation can shape the future.
“By reaching out to the next generation of leaders and fully engaging them in our industry, we allow them to see the impact they can make not only in their own communities, but on the country as a whole,” said APTA President William W. “Teening Up for a Greener World” is only open to a limited number of students. The application deadline is April 25, 2008.
