WASHINGTON, D.C. — Days after three finalists vying for the job to replace retired D.C. Metro GM Richard Sarles withdrew from consideration, some members of the transit authority’s board of directors said Monday the setback could be a blessing in disguise, the Washington Post reported.

Now, with the board forced to start from scratch in seeking a new leader, some members said they want to shift the emphasis of the search to focus on a fresh batch of candidates whose skills are more suited to fixing problems that have come to light in the transit system in recent months, according to the report.
