New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer confirmed funding for DaimlerChrysler Commercial Buses North America (DCCBNA) in excess of $2 million in state economic development assistance to support improvements in infrastructure and job training.

DaimlerChrysler Commercial Buses has invested in its Oriskany facility with building renovations and state-of-the art machinery and equipment, as well as providing continuing education, project management workshops and ongoing training for its approximately 560 local employees. In addition, DCCBNA’s Service & Parts Center of Florida has been awarded the Blue Seal of Excellence, the highest level of certification from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE).

The Service & Parts Center, located just outside of Orlando, Fla., offers a service facility for motorcoach, bus and other commercial vehicles.

To qualify for the Blue Seal of Excellence Recognition Program, 75 percent of the service professionals employed at the business must be ASE certified, and the facility must have at least one master technician on staff (the DCCBNA center has two master technicians on staff).
